Abstract

Containing molybdenum, vanadium, aluminum, cobalt nickel and nickel, the spent catalyst is an important secondary resource. Extracting molybdenum from spent catalyst can reduce the loss of molybdenum and avoid environment pollution. It has the important sense of environment and economy. A novel technology was developed to extract molybdenum from spent catalyst. Mixture of sodium carbonate and spent catalyst was roasted at 650℃ for 60 min with the ratio of sodium carbonate to spent catalyst as 15%, at the leaching of leaching temperature of 80℃, the leaching stirring speed of 450 rpm and liquid-solid ratio of 8:1 (mL:g), the leaching rate of molybdenum reached up to 96.34%. Molybdenum is recovered effetely from spent catalyst by soda roasting water leaching.
